Body
talk is an astonishingly simple and effective form of therapy that allows the
body?s energy systems to be re-synchronized so that they can operate as nature
intended. Each system, cell and atom is in constant communication with each other
at all times. Through exposure to the stresses of day to day life, these lines
of communication become compromised, which then leads to a decline in physical,
emotional and/or mental health. Reconnecting these lines of communication then
enables the body's mechanisms to function at optimum levels, thus preventing disease
and rapidly accelerating the healing process. Body Talk can be used as a stand?alone
system to treat many health problems, or seamlessly integrated into any health
care system to increase its effectiveness and promote faster healing.
This is a revolutionary form of healthcare as it combines the wisdom of advanced yoga and advaitic philosophy, the insights of modern physics and mathematics, the energy dynamics of acupuncture, the clinical findings of Applied Kinesiology and western medical expertise. It works effectively on humans, animals and plants.
The
basic premises underlying the Body Talk System constitute a new paradigm for synchronising
and balancing the bodymind that can be implemented in conjunction with any health
care system. The body is a very complex ecosystem involving a delicate balance
between physiological biochemical functions, emotional and mental interactions,
environmental influences, hereditary and genetic restrictions, and the need to
synchronise all these factors into a cohesive whole.
Until now the majority of health care systems have tended to take a Cartesian approach and have focused on isolated parts of the bodymind equation. The whole picture, incorporating all the variables, has been placed in the ?too hard? basket. This is because the human mind, even with the help of modern science and equipment, is incapable of thinking on such a comprehensive scale. This system recognises that within each and every one of us there lies the innate knowing of who we are and what makes us tick. This innate wisdom carries the answer to our health care dilemma.
The Body Talk System was developed by Dr. John Veltheim, and is being taught in 17 countries. Practitioners receive an intensive training and are certified after passing a two part examination.

Provides the layperson, family and community with a set of simple energy based techniques to make health maintenance and the management of daily health challenges accessible. This is a well established system of healthcare utilizing state-of-the-art energy medicine in a safe and comprehensive manner. Its power is based on increasing the levels of internal communication within the body, stimulating the body's own ability to regain and maintain a healthy balance.
The BodyTalk System normally utilizes an elaborate protocol which requires intensive training. Recognizing the critical need for a simplified version, this Access is designed to be used by any layperson to bring about significant improvement in health by using five simple techniques that can be learned in one day and implemented in 10 minutes. This will provide a basic level of health maintenance in communities around the world where basic health care may not be easily available.
TechniqueCortices
The Cortices technique is designed to improve and balance the communication between the two halves of the brain. (It?s like hitting the reset button on your brain?s computer.) This will improve the efficiency of the brain - thereby improving overall health. Specific immediate effects include improvements in thinking ability, memory, concentration, stress reduction, feelings of wellbeing, and general physiological functioning of the body.
SwitchingOne of the common side effects of stress is the tendency for the mind to go into a ?switching? mode - where normal brain coordination is compromised. This can show up as inattentiveness, poor decision-making, confusion, making silly mistakes, poor coordination, and mood swings. The ?switched? person often reverses simple things like left and right; yes and no. The Switching technique can help restore normal brain function.
HydrationThe body is 70-80% water. All physiological processes in the cells, nerves, organs, and other structures are dependent upon a good supply of water. Even if someone drinks plenty of water, the body may not be utilizing it well. Very often the transportation of water across the cell membranes is compromised. The Hydration technique helps to correct the body?s ability to fully use the water it has available - thereby greatly improving the efficiency of all physiological processes.
Body ChemistryThis amazing technique is designed to stimulate the immune system of the body into addressing many chronic and acute conditions. Often viruses, bacteria, and parasites are not effectively addressed by the body?s immune system because of various imbalances in the body. The Body Chemistry technique can correct these imbalances so that the body can then restore health without the need for drug intervention. This technique also works to help the immune system address allergies, food intolerances, and accumulated toxins.
ReciprocalsThe integrity of the structure of the body is critical for living a healthy and mobile life. The coordination of the muscles, balance of the muscle tone, and the unrestricted flow of energy through the body are all critical to healthy functioning at all levels of the bodymind complex. The Reciprocals technique involves reestablishing the integrity of the structures of the body and can have a significant effect on many forms of injuries, arthritis, circulatory issues, coordination patterns, spinal problems, and chronic pain.
First Aid TechniquesThe BodyTalk Access system also includes an effective first aid system that is non-invasive, safe, and very simple. It will resolve simple issues as a stand alone technique. In serious conditions it is designed to be used safely until specialized health care arrives.

The proper functioning of the lymphatic system is critical to our body?s ability to detoxify and regenerate tissues. The lymphatic system filters out toxins, foreign substances, recovers crucial substances that have escaped from the blood and maintains a healthy immune system. It?s a complex system comprising of lymph vessels and nodes working together to perform these tasks.
Unlike
the circulatory system, which uses the pumping of the heart to circulate its blood
flow, lymph vessels rely upon hundreds of tiny muscular units (lymphangions) contracting
throughout the body to propel the lymph which then eliminate waste products and
transport proteins, toxins, harmones, fatty acids and immune cells to the lymph
nodes, which can then process them. The action of the lymphangions can be hindered
or stopped due to fatigue, stress, lack of physical activity, emotional shock,
infections, age, injury, chemical food additives. This causes the lymph circulation
to stagnate, toxins accumulate and cellular metabolism is significantly compromised.
The resulting increase in acid and toxins within the tissues causes pain, tension
and edema. These substances along with the edema need to be removed quickly from
the interstitial fluid in order to promote proper tissue healing , restore pain
free movement and prevent many physical ailments.
Lymphatic Drainage is a hands-on technique designed to activate and cleanse the human fluid system. It was originated by Emil Vodder in 1932 . This was later refined, researched and well documented by award winning Dr Bruno Chickly of France as recently as 1994. This procedure is since being widely taught and practiced. The therapist uses subtle maneuvers to stimulate gentle wave like movements, to aid in the recirculation of the lymphatic flow. Profound outcomes can be achieved in a short period of time and clients find this process pleasurable to receive.
In essence, Lymph Drainage Therapy works to activate fluid circulation and stimulate the functioning of the immune system and parasympathetic nervous system. The results that can be accomplished are:
- Reduction in edemas (swelling) and lymphedemas of many origins.
- Detoxification of the body.
- Regeneration of tissue, wrinkles and scar or stretch marks.
- Relief of chronic and subacute inflammation, e.g. sinusitis, acne and allergies.
- Reduction in the symptoms of chronic fatigue syndrome and fibromyalgia.
- Improvement of venous conditions.
- Relief of chronic pain.
- Deep relaxation to aid insomnia, stress, loss of vitality.
- Antispastic actions to relieve muscle hypertonus and constipation.
- Alleviation of adiposis and cellulite tissue.
Cranio Sacral Therapy, CST, is a subtle and profound healing which assists the body?s natural capacity for self-repair. It was first developed by Dr Willam Sutherland in the early 1900s and further developed by Dr John E. Upledger following extensive research and scientific studies from 1975 to 1983.
CST is a gentle hands on method of evaluating and enhancing the functioning of a physiological body system called Cranio Sacral System ? comprised of the membranes and cerebrospinal fluid that surround and protect the brain and spinal cord. Using a soft touch and tuning in to the rhythm of the system, the practitioners release restrictions in the cerebro spinal system.
By complementing the body?s natural healing process, CST is increasingly used as a preventive health measure for its ability to bolster resistance to disease, and is effective for a wide range of medical problems associated with pain and dysfunction, including:
- Migraine headaches
- Chronic neck and back pain
- Motor coordination impairment
- Central nervous system disorder
- Chronic fatigue
- Fibromyalgia and other connective tissue disorders
- TMJ syndrome
- Post Surgical dysfunctions
- Immune System disorders
- Menstrual pain, PMS
Yoga and Sports Stretch are coming from such different cultures, yet they are so complimentary that their link should be used to full advantage. In Yoga various asanas or postures are practised and these are actually a form of stretching the various parts of the body. When practised along with correct breathing and meditation, it is useful in bringing the body-mind to a state of balance needed to make progress in our personal objectives or just to lead a normal balanced life.
The modern or western approach to yoga emphasises in achieving the more fascinating advanced asanas in a short period of time, resulting in over stretching their muscles before they are prepared for the stretch to that extent. This leads to various muscular injuries similar to the ones affecting sportsmen, and these are treated by sports massage therapy. In fact if sports massage and stretch are used to prepare the body, then such muscular injuries can be avoided and those same fascinating advanced asanas can be performed very easily.
In sports the whole muscular system works in unison to enable the body to cope with the stresses caused by the movement of body weight. During the simple act of walking or running, the knees are subjected to three times body weight due to the force of impact, while in sports there are hundreds of other muscles which work to create a complicated pattern of rotation and spiral movements, and these forces are often too much for the joints, resulting in damage.
Tightness of muscles that move the pelvic, hip, knee and ankle joints contribute to decreased joint mobility and restricted motion. If such problems are ignored, they may lead to serious conditions leading to permanent damage. Such a situation could be easily avoided by preparing the body with sports stretch and massage therapy which would not only make all the muscles so much more flexible, but would also increase the range of motion needed for optimum performance in all challenging activities including the common gymnasium workouts becoming so popular with the new generation.
The knee joint is surrounded by ligaments and tendons forming a joint capsule which can get thickened or scarred. The thickening can restrict the free movement of the connective tissue causing pain and disability. The iliacus, piriformis, adductors, hamstrings, quadriceps and gastronomies muscles will alter knee function if they are tight/shortened.
If there is a limited ankle movement, it restricts doriflexion and can be a primary cause of knee problems. Muscle or joint restriction at the ankle stops the lower leg from moving over the foot in walking or running. The limitations of this motion results in excessive strain transferred up the leg.
Weak muscle texture cannot support body frame well, while tight muscles restrict mobility and range of movement.
No work of a holistic healer will be complete without applying kinesiology in one way or another. This is the foundation stone for what appears to the uninformed as magic and mystical. Applied Kinesiology, AK, is a technique used to diagnose and treat health problems by identifying weakened muscles. AK was first developed by George Goodheart in the 1960s and is based in the concept that adverse changes in muscle function can occur as a consequence of a variety of internal triggers. They could be diseased or dysfunctional internal organs, excessive toxins, nutritional deficiencies, food intolerances, or emotional issues. Although there is no scientific proof to the accuracy of AK as a diagnostic tool, but being non-invasive serves as an excellent guide to select and progress with complimentary therapies. Smaller health problems can be corrected before they lead to larger ones and very often, crucial and sometimes life threatening discoveries are made which had often gone undetected by medical systems.
Applied Kinesiology is one of the basics for healers working with ?energy medicine? and the vital energy (qi). AK can help restore normal function to the nervous, endocrine, immune, and digestive systems, and to determine previously unsuspected food or chemical sensitivities. The goal of AK treatment is to intervene early enough to prevent or delay illness.
Everyones
body is different and unique with its own type of problems and peculiarities.
An Applied Kinesiologist has the ability to give treatments and life style recommendations
which are specific to the particular needs of the person. Combined with the knowledge
of acupuncture or meridian therapy, AK can contribute significantly in bringing
about a state of well being.
